- Drama Camps
SUMMER DRAMA PROGRAM
SUMMER CAMPS:Participants work with industry professionals to delve into a range of theatre arts, including acting and drama, puppetry, stage combat, circus, and more! Kids can learn to think creatively while picking up essential performance skills which are directly applied to scene work. Build skills, make friends, and have fun!

SUMMER INTENSIVES:• Playmaking: Put on a play from creation to performance at Theatre Calgary’s two-week Summer Intensive! Participants work with professional artists while building skills in drama & acting, music & dance, and play creation/writing. This program emphasizes ensemble collaboration and individual artistic voice. Celebrate participants’ creativity and passion in a final show!

• Musical Theatre: Love musicals? Train with the professionals at Theatre Calgary and sing, dance, and act in our two-week Musical Theatre intensive! Participants explore musical theatre skills, including story & character exploration, vocal technique & training, singing solo & in a group, as well as movement & choreography, and then put it all together in a final performance! All levels welcome; instructors will meet participants “where they are at” and support a love of the arts.July 22 - August 2, 2024 (2 weeks, Mon-Fri) - SOLD OUT!

We know that arts education is a powerful tool to build confidence, inspire creativity, make connections, forge friendships and teamwork, think critically, and learn through play.Theatre Calgary believes that the next generation of theatre artists and audiences are in your classroom, and we offer a range of Theatre Workshops in a variety of disciplines, tailored for Grades K-12.
ARTIST IN THE CLASSROOMTheatre Calgary can come to you and bring an artist to your classroom! We can build a one-session workshop, a week-long residency, or a weekly residency over an extended period. Term of engagement can be determined in collaboration with educators.

Coming to see a matinee? Enrich your experience by adding a workshop and/or a backstage tour! Our Show Workshops explore themes of the play through theatre games. Students can enjoy exercises and games that relate to the play they will see.
Just want to come to the theatre? Book a workshop and a backstage tour! We offer part-day sessions (2.5 hours) and full-day sessions at the theatre. Part-day sessions include a tour throughout the theatre followed by your choice of workshop offering.
