For Theatre Calgary: The Mountaintop (2014)
On Screen: Orphan Black (2013-17), The Expanse (2016-17), Tin Star (2017)
Like many Canadian acting talents, Kevin Hanchard is a notable figure from the Stratford and Shaw Festivals in Ontario, appearing in plays like Macbeth, Topdog/Underdog and His Girl Friday.
In 2014, Hanchard played Martin Luther King Jr. in our production (and the Canadian premiere) of Katori Hall’s The Mountaintop. He continued in this role when the production moved to the Shaw Festival in the summer of that year.
While the theatre is his first love, Hanchard has played prominent roles in some of the greatest sci-fi shows in recent memory, like Detective Art Bell in Orphan Black and Inspector Sematimba in The Expanse.
2. Michael Hogan

For Theatre Calgary: Doc(1984), Death of a Salesman (2002), The Diary of Anne Frank(2003)
On Screen: Battlestar Galactica (2004-2009), Teen Wolf(2012-2017), Mass Effect (voice)
Hailing from Ontario and an alumni of the National Theatre of Canada, Michael Hogan is a prominent figure in Canadian stage and screen whose career stretches back to the late 1970s.
In 1983, Hogan first appeared on the Theatre Calgary stage as Ev alongside his wife Susan Hoga in Sharon Pollock’s Doc. It would be 19 years (and many on-screen roles) before he returned again for the role of Willy Loman in our 2002 production of the classic drama, Death of a Salesman. A year later, both Michael and Susan Hogan performed as Anne Frank’s parents in our 2003 production of The Diary of Anne Frank.
If you’ve seen Battlestar Galactica, then you probably know Michael Hogan as Colonel Saul Tigh, the rough and unlikable executive officer on the Galactica. If you’re less into spaceships and more into Teen Wolf, then you probably know him as the ruthless werewolf hunter, Gerard Argent.
3. Tom Jackson

For Theatre Calgary: Beyond Eden(2010)
On Screen: North of 60 (1992-1997), The Diviners (1993), Outlander (2019)
Tom Jackson is a well-known actor, singer and philanthropist from the One Arrow First Nation in Saskatchewan. An Officer of the Order of Canada, Jackson is probably most well-known for his role of Peter Kenidi in North of 60 and his incredible humanitarian efforts.
In 2010 Jackson played The Watchmen, a supernatural trickster who protects the sacred Haida Gwaii in our production of Beyond Eden with the Vancouver Playhouse. Since then Jackson has had many television and movie appearances, like Outlander, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and even released a number of country and folk music albums.
