The Merry Wives of Windsor

(she/her) Jane is an actor, director, voice coach and educator. A significant portion of Jane’s directing work has been guiding young actors through the rehearsal process as a bridge between their academic life and into the profession. She has a deep passion for this program, spending most summers in the park as the voice coach. Some directing productions include: A Christmas Carol (Theatre Calgary 2021 - Associate Director), The Duchess of Malfi, Our Town, Chekhov Shorts (Drama 500- UCalgary), Where Words Once Were, James and the Giant Peach (Storybook Theatre), plus 8 years on I Heart MRU, the student orientation play for Mount Royal University. Jane has taught at such institutions as York University, Southern Methodist University, Mount Royal University, the University of Alberta and is currently on faculty at the University of Calgary. Jane is also the Resident Voice Coach for Theatre Calgary.

(she/her) Kathleen Faith Ballangan is an emerging Filipino-Canadian artist from Mohkintsis, also known as Calgary. She has just graduated with a BFA in Drama from the University of Calgary, and is so excited to be a part of this summer's Shakespeare by the Bow! As an artist of colour, Kathleen is eager to bring representation of her heritage onto the stage, and she hopes that through her work she is able to bring joy to those who witness it. She wants to thank her mom, her professors, her partner, her friends, and her peers for helping her get this far. Mwah!

(he/him) Christian is a dramatic artist focusing on acting, improvisation, and writing. He was born, and raised in Calgary, where he studied Drama in the University of Calgary’s BFA program. Christian’s main artistic value is joy, and aims to bring an element of personal joy to the creative processes he’s involved with. He is proud of his early work including several University of Calgary theatre productions, as well as improv and solo showcases at the IGNITE! Festival. In his free time Christian can be found creating, whether that be personal projects, the newest Lego set, or memories with his friends.

(he/him) Sam is an actor from Edmonton, AB (Amiskwaciwâskahikan). He recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a BFA Acting Degree and is ready to get his start in the professional world. Previous Shakespearean roles include Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Francis Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as Iago in a short film version of Othello. Sam is very excited to be a part of Shakespeare by the Bow this summer and hopes you enjoy the production.

(they/them) Javelin is a nonbinary actor, writer, and fighter born and raised in Mohkinstsis. They are absolutely delighted to be jumping on board with this year’s iteration of Shakespeare on the Go. Previously they were seen in the 2016 production of Hamlet as a part of Theatre Calgary’s Shakespeare by the Bow. Other recent credits include staged readings of Ai Yah: Chop Suey (Alberta Theatre Projects), Imperfect Symmetry (Jupiter Theatre), and Calling Out Christmas (Lunchbox Stage One). Javelin would like to thank Kaycie for her endless support and encouragement, along with Clove and Juniper for being just the best little gay family.

(she/her) Abby is an Alberta-based actor and recent graduate of the University of Alberta BFA Acting program. Recent theatre credits include: Love’s Labour’s Lost, She Kills Monsters, Rochdale (Studio Theatre) and Puppet Pub Crawl (Found Festival). Abby received the Golden Nose award from the 2021 Play the Fool Film Fest for her film Outtshgh, and the Best in Alberta award from the 2022 Play the Fool Film Fest for her film EGG (created in collaboration with Dayna Lea Hoffmann). Abby plans to work in theatre and film throughout her career. Her focus is to create honest, inclusive, relatable art that connects people and invites them to reflect.

(she/her) Hello! My name is Keysha. I was born in Haiti but was raised in Camrose, Alberta. Growing up, I took part in the performing arts early. My parents got me into voice lessons when I was 8, piano lessons when I was 7, joined a community theater group when I was 10, and I did competitive dance for 15 years! I recently got the opportunity to be a part of Beauty and the Beast where I got to play Belle, here in Camrose. It was so fun to be able to play one of my favourite Disney princesses:) When I have some free time, I like to read novels, watch tv, work on any songs I’m writing, spend some quality time with my friends, and crochet! I hope to find new opportunities to grow in my acting, singing, and maybe even dancing skills. I plan on moving to Calgary in the fall and I can’t wait to see what this nice city has to offer!

(she/her) Beth is a theatre-maker and an award-winning lighting, set, projection, and mixed-reality designer whose work has been seen on stages around the world for over 30 years. For Theatre Calgary she has designed Steel Magnolias and Ragtime: A Concert Performance. A leader in new forms of performance, she recently led a VR Performance residency at Canadian Stage, and co-created and directed Bury The Wren, a Virtual Reality / Live performance which will next be presented at World Stage Design in Calgary. (she/her) Cathleen’s has formal training in fashion and costume design from around the world, having studied at Trozmer Universidad de Diseño in Puebla Mexico, Dalhousie University in Halifax, and Central Saint Martins in London England. Cathleen has had the pleasure of designing for the opera, theatre, local indie-musicians, film, and television. In Calgary she has had the privilege to work in a myriad of roles with an amazing diversity of talent. She loves her work because it allows her to collaborate with talented artists and continue to experience the joy of playing ‘dress-up’. Website: Cathleen.Design 

(they/them) Kathryn (or KP) is a designer, director, and creator who has worked across western Canada. They have worked on and created a multitude of projects including award winning clown, puppet, and new creation productions. Their focus lies in collective creation, queer stories, and the ecology of ensemble. They are currently the Interim Artistic Producer at Vertigo Theatre, and a member of the Mudfoot Theatre Collective. (she/her) Courtney is thrilled to be back for her second year with Shakespeare on the Go! She is a 2021 graduate of the University of Alberta’s BFA Stage Management Program. Raised in B.C., Courtney grew up training as a dancer for fourteen years, which lead her into the world of theatre. With her dance studio, she got the chance to dance in Disneyland and on multiple Cruise Ships.
